The Sarawak United People’s Party
Three rings represent:-
Trust
Humility
Loyalty
Trust
The effect of keeping to the principles above is support from the people. The people will trust the Party and its leadership. The interlocking of the rings and the action of the common purpose will result in gaining the trust and support from the people.
Humility
Humility among the members to serve the people
Humility among current leadership to listen to different views
Humility among senior leadership to let go to allow for regeneration
Loyalty
Loyalty to the Party
People
To serve the people especially those who are economically disadvantaged. This can only be done if the leaders at every level are humble and put the interest of these people first. Two issues plague the Party constantly and these can be overcome by being humble sincerely. There is a constant need to accept different views with the overall focus on the aims and objectives of the Party. Finally and most importantly, there is a need of constant leadership renewal. Leaders who have stayed past there time must have the humility to let go in order to allow for regeneration to take place. One of the most important duties of a leader is to plan and search for the right successor.
Party
The Party interest comes first. Members have to be loyal to the Party. When leaders at any level stray from the aims and objectives of the Party, it is the ordinary members duty to redirect the leadership to the right path. This is what it means by loyalty to the Party. When members are loyal to the Party, it results in strength and greatness for the Country.
Unity
The three interlocking rings represents unity.
Unity of members comes strength
Unity of the purpose comes achievement
Unity of people comes stronger Sarawak
Of the 4 words in the name, there is only one verb – unity. This is an active word. Conscious action is required. The question is unity in what? It has to be unity of purpose of the Party’s aims and objectives. The two big objectives of the Party are to safeguard Sarawak and to defend parliamentary democracy in Malaysia. Both these objectives aim to strengthen that is to result in greatness.

砂拉越人民联合党中央秘书长拿督陈超耀律师谨以沉痛的心情，深切哀悼已故前砂拉越副首席部长兼砂拉越人民联合党前主席拿督巴丁宜丹斯里黄顺开医生夫人拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生的辞世，并向其家属致以最诚挚慰问。 拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生享嵩寿100岁，一生坚毅、谦逊、低调而有原则。她长期陪伴并支持已故拿督巴丁宜丹斯里黄顺开医生的政治道路，在丈夫投身公共服务及领导砂拉越人民联合党的奋斗历程中，始终坚定站在身旁，默默付出，风雨同路。 拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生也是一名深受敬重的医生。她一生以医者仁心服务社会，关怀病患，尽心尽责，在医疗岗位上展现专业精神与奉献情怀。她以医生的坚毅、冷静与责任感面对人生，也将这份精神贯彻在家庭、社会及党务奉献之中。 自1978年加入砂拉越人民联合党以来，拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生始终忠诚于党，坚守信念。她不仅是已故拿督巴丁宜丹斯里黄顺开医生身旁最坚定的支持者，也是砂拉越人民联合党在艰难时刻值得敬重与铭记的忠诚党员。 2017年8月，尽管拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生已届高龄，并因早前在中国上海不慎跌倒伤及右脚踝，行动不便，她仍坚持以关键证人身份，参与砂拉越人民联合党在诗巫收回3间店屋的法律诉讼，并提供重要证据，协助党最终成功收回有关产业。 当年，她在党员陪同下，仍坚持自行一步步走到位于二楼的高庭；她抵达时，众人因她的坚持与勇气而报以热烈掌声。 她曾坚定地说：“我即使坐轮椅也要来告诉法庭事情的真相。”这番话，充分体现她作为医生的坚强意志，也体现她对真相、原则与砂拉越人民联合党的坚定信念。 拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生一生谦逊低调，从不追求名利或个人表扬。她曾婉拒个人表扬，仅答应代表亡夫领取“砂哈迪终身忠诚奉献精神奖”，这份风范更彰显她对丈夫、对党、对信念的深厚情义与崇高品格。 她的离世，不仅是家属的重大损失，也是砂拉越人民联合党及砂拉越社会的一大损失。她一生的坚守、奉献与精神，将永远受到砂拉越人民联合党铭记。 愿拿汀巴丁宜潘斯里杨守勤医生安息主怀，也愿其家属在哀恸中获得安慰与力量。 60 SHARES Share on FacebookRead More
