Press Statement from President Tan Sri Peter Chin

According to unofficial press information and reports from Party colleages, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, SUPP Chairman for Sibu Branch held a Press Conference in Kuching to announce his resignation from the Party and joined a new political party, TERAS. As at 4:45pm this afternoon, the Party Headquarters did not receive any official letter of resignation from Dato Sri Wong.

In the circumstances and after due consultation with some senior leaders of the Party, I will recommend to the Central Working Committee that Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh’s membership with the Party be cancelled with immediate effect. This is a regrettable decision but it is one that Dato Sri Wong brought upon himself.

On behalf of the Party Central leadership, I would like to call on all SUPP members to remain calm and put their trust with the present leadership to lead the Party through such an unfortunate situation.

The Central Working Committee will meet soon to review the situation and decide on the best course of actions for the future of the Party.
