Scholarship for cyber security and molecular engineering students
A total of RM100 million scholarships per year had been allocated by the state government to Yayasan Sarawak for students studying cyber security and molecular engineering, said Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Openg during the Closing Ceremony of Skilled Human Capital Development Conference 2017 (SHCDC2017) at DeTAR PUTRA UNIMAS, yesterday.
The three day conference is an initiative from the federal government to support the strategic development of Sarawak which include participants from industries, educational and vocational institutions, state and federal ministries, government linked corporations (GLCs) and non-governmental organizations throughout Malaysia.
University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has been given the mandate by the Ministry of Human Resource Development together with Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPTK), CEO@Faculty, Leadership Institute and Yayasan Serian to conduct a conference on skilled human capital development specifically for state of Sarawak.
SHCDC 2017 focused on four tracks of discussion which were talent management, organizational change, human resource practices and technical and vocational education.
A memorandums of understanding (MOU) was also signed during the events between Unimas and the Ministry of Human Resources and the second MOU was between UNIMAS and Peoplelogy.
