Triennial Delegates Conference
SUPP’s Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC), which is scheduled to take place in August, will be the best and most effective solution to once and for all solve the party’s internal squabble, where new and capable leaders will be elected via the democratic process of party election.
The Bon Fire Team therefore fully agrees with State BN Secretary General Datuk Dr. Steven Rundi’s statement that the feuding factions need to reconcile. Bon Fire Team strongly believes that such solution has already been formulated and the coming TDC is no doubt the most ideal platform for both factions to end their differences and to be reunited as one party.
However, Bon Fire Team must also refute any proposal or attempt of forming a new party under BN Plus, then coming back as one of the BN components as a mean to solve internal squabbles within any BN component party, because ultimately this will gradually weaken a component party’s political power as the number of representatives will also be reduced when another new party is formed.
Bon Fire Team must also stress that, all SUPP State Assemblymen and Members of Parliament are all legitimate Central Working Committee members recognised by the party since neither one of them was sacked, expelled or side-lined from the party’s leadership. In fact, they were invited to be part of the organising committee to organise as well as to participate in the coming TDC where their leaders stand equal chance of being elected. Following ROS’s favourable ruling on the legitimacy of SUPP’s Central leadership as well as its two branches, all disputes should come to an end and both factions should set aside their differences and work together hand in hand to face the coming state election.
Integration and mutual respect among all component parties at state and national level have been the essence of BN Spirit. Bon Fire Team stands firm and unshaken and will continue to uphold the BN spirit which has been practiced by all BN components all this while. The act of forming new party under the roof of BN Plus is tantamount to betrayal to their own party.
“Bon Fire Team opines that not only this cannot help solve problems from its roots but can potentially hurt the integrity of BN component parties which leads to irreparable harm to the BN spirit. Furthermore, the BN spirit dictates that it must be agreed and accepted by all component parties before any party is admitted to join the BN family”, says Tan Kai ,one of the key members in the Bon Fire Team who is also SUPP Central Youth Chairman.
