Malaysian Senator Council delegation courtesy call on TYT
A Malaysian Senator Council (MSC) delegation paid a courtesy call on Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Astana in Petra Jaya here yesterday.
Led by its president Datuk Seri Khairudin E S Abdul Samad, the courtesy visit was in conjunction with the council members’ official visit to Kuching which ends on April 6.
Following the courtesy call to the Head of State, the delegation then paid a courtesy call on State Legislative Assembly (DUN) speaker Datuk Amar Muhammad Asfia Awang Nassar at his office in the DUN Complex here.
The delegation was also given a tour of the complex while briefed by Asfia.
Later, they also attended a briefing on the development of Sarawak which was presented by State Planning Unit deputy director Lester Mathew.
Three senators from Sarawak were also present during the visits, namely Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian who is also Local Government Minister, Senator Dr Zaeidi Suhaili and Senator Datuk Lihan Jok.
