Balingian by-election

Barisan Nasional component parties came up in full force to stay united behind their Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Yussibnosh Balo, 47, a former District officer from Dalat District.

SUPP, a component party of the BN and the SUPP President also led a strong team from SUPP the Mukah Civic Centre to give their support.

Yussibnosh is facing a straight fight against PKR Abdul Jalil Bujang 55 who was a candidateagainst DAtuk Talip Zulpilip in the last State election in 2011.

The Balingian seat was vacant after former Chief Minister, Pehin Taib Mahmud resigned on February 28. Taib is now Sarawak’s governor.

Taib won the seat with a majority of 5,154 votes against PKR Suriati Abdullah and independent Sallh Jafaruddin.
