Dr Sim: do more for rural clinics in the State.
Local Government Minister, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian called to the Ministry of Health to do more for rural clinics in the State.
Dr. Sim who is on a watching brief for the Ministry said he had a discussion with a Johore born doctor in Sri Aman polyclinic and he was made to understand that the clinic only has electricity from 5 pm to 11 pm daily.
He was told that there were some clinics which were in appalling condition.
Dr. Sim who was speaking at the Sarawak Hear introductory event, said it is an uphill task for clinics in Sarawak to catch up with their counter part in Malaya unless the State get back its rights as what was agreed in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
