Living in unity, harmony through shared festivities
Sarawak always celebrate festivals with one heart and I fully support our Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Adenan Satem when he said Sarawakians know better and that Chinese and Indians are not ‘pendatang’, said Minister for Local Government, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian.
Speaking at the Kuching Intercultural Moon cake festival at Carpenter Street, Dr. Sim said walking along Carpenter Street where the food stalls are also contributing to his 10,000 steps per day while enjoying the variety kind of food there.
He said it is fine to spoil oneself at times but burned off calories by walking.
Dr Sim added that his work as a medical practitioner was inspired by a desire to diagnose problems and provide practical solutions, whether it was in the hospital before, or in politics now.
“ I have been privileged to see for myself many cultures and environments and I learned very early that Unity amongst all of us is paramount to see a successful Sarawak for the years to come. I see here today an event that highlights the close relationships that the Chinese community in Sarawak has with all the races here, particularly with the Malay community that live nearby and across the river,” he stated.
He thanked the organizers for the successful event.
