The date 28th July 2022 will be remembered as a Historic Day for Democracy in Malaysia. 砂副总理兼公共卫生、房屋及地方政府部长拿督斯里沈桂贤参与砂拉越议会议长拿督阿玛阿斯菲亚及首届人民代议士访问英国国会，同时也见证本届英国国会会议最后一天的辩论演讲。 沈桂贤说，这是他首次访问英联邦议会的“始祖”，此前曾访问澳洲议会、中国人民大会堂及厄瓜多尔议会。 他指出，英国国会有超过1500名国会议员，其中650人来自下议院，880人来自上议员。目前国会大厦3英里走廊正在翻修，整个英国国会翻新工程耗资220亿英镑。
