沈桂贤：取消医生津贴恐带来严重后果
砂地方政府及房屋部长拿督斯里沈桂贤表示，他非常关注公共服务局取消“关键服务奖励津贴”（BIPK）课题，希望联邦政府能站在医疗领域发展角度，慎重看待医护人员的需求。 他本身已向卫生部长拿督斯里祖基菲里提出个人看法，即赞成后者将此课题再次带上内阁讨论。 沈桂贤今日发文告说，取消津贴恐导致我国医护人员长期建立的福利体系瞬间破坏，带来严重后果。 “许多医生及大马医药协会成员，向我反映他们对取消津贴感到震惊及遗憾。” 沈桂贤说，他当初在政府医院服务时，医生享有的津贴，包括关键服务奖励的数额，几乎占月入的50%。 “尽管如此，政府医院的医生待遇还是远远比不上私人医院的医生，甚至低于市场水平，比私人医院医生的收入少5至10倍。” 他强调，为了维护健全的医疗发展，政府医院需要良好素质的医生服务，取消津贴可能导致许多医生却步，不肯选择在政府医院服务。 “这对砂拉越乡区医疗服务而言，冲击更大。” 沈桂贤也表示，砂政府将继续根据1963年建国契约，争取医药行政自主权。
