Piasau State ASSemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting visited the Container City at Jalan North Yu Seng to encourage the youngsters who operated food stalls there to give their best. Hosting for the Ambassador, People’s Republic of China
Minister for Local Government and Housing, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian feted the Chinese People’s Republic of China, Ambassador to Malaysia, Huang HuiKang lunch at his residence today. Dr. Sim whose late father, the deputy chief minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong had a long standing friendship with the government of China. Dr. Sim himself has also established a close tie with the present government of People’s Republic of China to promote trade, education and tourism with them.
2017 Braveheart Extraordinare Run
A total of 2000 participants gathered to run for the 2017 Braveheart Extraordinare Run where RM100,000 was raised for Sarawak Society for Parents of Children of Special Needs. The event was organised by Sarawak Bumiputra Women Chamber of Commerce (Dewanita DUBS) and this was the second time such event had taken place. 陈超耀希望美里中央菜市场屋顶全替换
砂人联党卑骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师希望市政局能将中央菜市场的屋顶全部替换，确保小贩民众的安全。 他说，前天的风灾造成屋顶被掀开，证明建筑物上空的构架有问题，假使维修工程只限损坏部分，并不担保未在风灾中损坏的部分是安全的。而且屋顶的构架是肉眼所看不到的，为避免日后同样的事情发生，市政局工程部的确有必要派员深入检查，若有必要应将整个屋顶重新装修。 据市政局工程部官员透露，中央菜市场屋顶维修工程目前已进入招标当中，并将在本星期五开标，下星期一便会进行装修，估计费用不少过2万令吉。 为避免“天窗”下雨时漏水，市政局承包商在风灾后以帆布暂时替代锌片遮盖破洞。 鉴于风灾也造成菜市场电缆破坏，电流供应中断，对小贩生计深表关心的陈超耀，也在今日凌晨2时突访中央菜市场，确保该菜市场的电源已恢复供应，小贩不在点蜡烛卖菜。 陈超耀透露，据他昨天再次联系电力局管理层了解进展时，从负责人口中获悉电力局在风灾后无法在当天恢复电供，乃是茶市场的电表箱在强风扯断电流时断路烧毁。 “电力局技术人员是在完成驳接电缆，检查电表箱时才晓得情况严重，必须耗时更长的时间来修复。”他庆祝电表箱短路着火并没有波及整个小贩中心，否则后果不堪设想。
2017年勇敢的心竞跑活动
2017年勇敢的心竞跑活动获得2千100名民众踊跃参与，并成功筹得10万令吉协助社会弱势群体。 这项由砂企业家协会妇女组举办的常年活动，旨在通过举办提升社会大众对健康意识的活动之际，同时也为穷困家庭筹款，提供援助。竞跑活动分为4个组别，1.5公里、5公里和10公里报名费每人头50令吉，15公里的则为每人头60令吉。 主办单位希望能通过竞跑兼筹款活动，让社会各界人士能进一步接触到生活困苦的群体。 竞跑活动上也邀请到了砂地方政府及房屋部部部长拿督沈桂贤和砂旅游、艺术、文化、青年及体育部部长拿督阿都卡林主持响笛挥旗仪式。陪同出席的有砂福利、社区发展、妇女、家庭及儿童发展部助理部长拿督法兰西哈丁、杜邦区州议员法兹鲁丁、北市市长拿督阿邦阿都华合等人。
Repairing the Miri wet market damaged by storm
Miri Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and City Mayor Adam Yii went to check on the wet market where the roof was blown off two days ago.
