JKKKs urged to set up education funds for their children
All village development and security committees (JKKKs) have been urged to set up education funds for their children. 法兰西斯哈登：长屋居民须注重孩子教育
砂人联党成邦江区州议员拿督法兰西斯哈登呼吁乡村安全与发展委员会关注教育课题，为下一代设立教育基金。 也是社会和谐助理部长的法兰西斯哈登强调，类似的教育基金可以帮助长屋孩子在完成中学学业之后，继续前往高等教育学府深造。 他表示，长屋居民必须设想孩子的未来，而唯有教育才可以带来发展，改善生活。若设立教育基金，就等于投资在未来，让孩子拥有更好的教育。 法兰西斯哈登是于成邦江长屋出席达雅节庆典时，这么表示。 他希望家长们不要忽略孩子的教育，并且强调我国是注重创意与革新思维的国家，拥有高等教育者，未来将有许多发展的机会。
粽香情浓粽子教学示范及品尝会
由砂人联党朋岭支部妇女组、诏安路乡区发展与安全委员会及妇联康乐俱乐部在古晋旺城购物广场联办的粽香情浓粽子教学示范及品尝，特别邀请一名穆斯林女士朱丽娜前来示范清真粽子，彰显砂拉越种族的独有特色。 活动筹委会主席田惜春在致词时指出，该项活动也是为了提升砂拉越所拥有独特和谐的多元种族文化和华裔各乡属的民间饮食文化。 她说，华人祖先在家乡时因为地理条件，各乡属的粽子包法和馅料有所不同，因此此次该支部妇女组除了示范一般在砂拉越常见的粽子包法外，也有示范海南人及广东人的粽子。更值得一提的是，此次的示范也邀请到一名穆斯林女士朱丽娜示范清真粽子。” 她感到高兴的是，当她得知华人节日传统食品走进了友族群，这见证了砂拉越民族多元民族的和谐。 她形容，粽子是由华人祖先延承下来的一种传统饮食文化，文化的传承就是历史的轨迹，为了能让后代了解祖先的历史，发动对文化传承的活动是有意义的。 此次活动也准备了一些清真粽子给诺慕妮孤儿院，砂云南善堂和救世军，希望他们也可以感受佳节的气氛和温暖。
沈桂贤拜访祈祷室
砂地方政府与房屋部长兼石角区州议员拿督沈桂贤于日前拜访甘榜双溪登雅的Wastu An-Nahri祈祷室和甘榜新纳布迪的Darul Salam祈祷室。这是配合斋戒月，为这些祈祷室送上物资。 他欣慰看到这些祈祷室的设施完善，良好运作。 随同者包括巴达旺市议员叶耀星和杨典强等。
