SUPP response to Temenggong Lu’s statement
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) failed to recognise Temenggong Lu Kim Yong, who is an advisor to the UPP and being a community leader who should not meddle with politics as the right candidate to volunteer to be a facilitator for SUPP and UPP.
A statement from the SUPP Publicity stated yesterday that SUPP will not work with any person who had betrayed the party and called Lu’s statement in the media as a political stunt without sincerity. The statement also decried that Lu as a community leader should know not to get involved in politics but to service the community.
With a new leadership and changes in the Central Working Committee, SUPP, a multi-racial party, has been getting better response and acceptance from people on the ground after getting rid of any excess baggage. The party leaders and members have gone to the ground to render service to the people.
The statement added that the party will try its best to win back the 19 seats which belonged to the party while at the same time, will also assist the component parties of PBB, SPDP and PRS in seats we are not standing. The party is all ready to service any Sarawakians irrespective of race or religion and had pledged their support to the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.
