SPCB Press Release
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached for assistance by a person occupying a house built by his grandfather on a parcel of land near the Sarawak General Hospital which is owned by the Kuching Hokkien Association.
According to this individual the Kuching Hokkien Association has demanded that he vacate the house on the land concerned. The individual is very worried at being evicted as he and his wife have nowhere to live and his income as a hawker is not fixed.
SUPP PCB have since written a letter to the Kuching Hokkien Association appealing for their leniency and to inquire whether they could consider paying the individual concerned a reasonable compensation on compassionate grounds to vacate the house.
SUPP PCB have also written a letter to the Ministry of Resource Planning to seek their assistance in identifying a TOL Resettlement land to enable the individual to dismantle his wooden house to be rebuilt on the land if it can be identified and given by the Sarawak Government. SUPP PCB in their letter to the Ministry explained in detail the problem faced by the individual and appealed for the Ministry to give their due consideration.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing genuine problems or who come across problems but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office during office hours to request for assistance.
