GST Cup Badminton Tournament concludes in Kuching

The GST Cup Badminton Tournament concluded successfully with its closing ceremony held at Sentosa Sport Centre here on Sunday.

Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang said the tournament provided a valuable platform for badminton enthusiasts to compete, exchange experiences and strengthen friendships through sports.

He said the participation of players, organisers and members of the local community also reflected the growing interest in grassroots sports.

“Events such as the GST Cup are important in encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle while nurturing greater interest in badminton, especially among the younger generation,” he said.

Lo also congratulated all participating players and commended the organisers, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their contributions towards the success of the tournament.

Awards were presented to outstanding teams and players in recognition of their hard work, determination and competitive spirit throughout the competition.

He said the continuation and expansion of the GST Cup in future would provide more opportunities for local players to develop their skills and strengthen ties within the badminton community.
