SUPP PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BUREAU (SPCB) PRESS RELEASE 10 Oct 2014

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau, setup after the first SUPP CWC meeting on 22nd September 2014 to provide a better service to the public, visited MCA Public Service and Complaints Department (MCA PSCD) Head, Datuk Seri Michael Chong. The trip was also joined by SUPP Sentosa branch member Cr. Li Tze Min and Cr. Yeo Eng Kuang.

Datuk Seri Michael Chong was very happy to receive the visit from a component party and believed that both sides will benefit from such dialogue sharing.

SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap said the bureau is still in its early stage and through this study tour, it hopes to gain valuable experience for the betterment of its operation.

During the courtesy call, Datuk Seri advised the entourage on his past experience in the running of MCA PSCD and how to assist the general public in solving their problems and predicament. Datuk Seri also advised that the SUPP PCB should also try to play a preventive role in warning the public of potential scams. Datuk Seri gave an example of online scams whereby people have been cheated to part with large sums of money through false promises of earning large profits and marriage. Datuk Seri said he has also received complaints of such nature from people in Sarawak.

Both MCA Public Services and Complaints Department and SUPP PCB agreed to hold a joint seminar.

Datuk Seri advised to always strive to put Serving the Public above politics as serving the public and helping people should be the main priority, regardless of race or religion.
