Nomination for the Central Committee
SUPP received exactly 104 nomination for the Central Committee yesterday at the headquarters from 40 branches.
Delegates from two branches of which there will be no election for CC delegates in the first stage.
Belaga and Kemena were not eligible to votes as they did not pay their annual fees. Sibu branch was suspended earlier.
Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Secretary general said as of 5 pm today when nomination was closed, they received exactly 104 nomination thus there would be no contest for the first tier.
He said on the 9th they would elect for the central working committee (CWC). There are 23 CWC members of which one would be the Youth central chief and one for the Central woman chief.
“We will nominate for the CWC after the election of the CC on the 9th,” he added.
Also at the press conference were Publicity chief, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and other branch chairmen.
