Wilfred Yap provides wheelchair and essential aid to elderly stroke patient in Kampung Stampin

Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has provided a wheelchair and a supply of adult diapers to an 82 year old stroke patient in Kampung Stampin to help improve her mobility and ease the burden on her family.

The visit was arranged after Tuai Rumah Kalina Janggui informed Yap of the elderly woman’s condition and sought assistance for her daily needs.

During the visit, Yap presented the wheelchair and essential supplies to support the woman’s care at home.
Yap thanked Kalina for her concern and for promptly bringing the matter to his attention.

“Our community is strongest when we look after one another. I appreciate TR Kalina Janggui for highlighting the needs of this elderly resident so that assistance could be provided without delay. We must continue to care for our senior citizens and those facing health challenges with compassion and empathy,” he said.

He said that while the assistance may appear modest, a wheelchair could significantly improve the quality of life of a stroke patient by restoring some mobility and independence, while the supply of adult diapers would help reduce the family’s financial burden.

Yap also reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with community leaders to ensure assistance reaches those who are genuinely in need, regardless of race or religion.
