Handing Over Of RTP Projects For The People

Letters of Award were handed to the appointed contractors through “Cabut Undi” for two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects under the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) as the implementing agency.

State Assemblyman Sentosa, Wilfred Yap said these projects reflect the GPS Government’s continued commitment to delivering practical, people-focused development that improves daily living conditions for local residents.

The two projects are Naik Taraf Perparitan di Jalan Semaba (Sebelah Kuil Chin Kiun Thai Ti & Thai Pak Kung), Kuching costing RM20,000.

Yap said this drainage upgrading project is critical to addressing flash flooding during a downpour and stagnant water issues that have long affected residents and worshippers visiting the Chin Kiun Thai Ti and Thai Pak Kung Temples. Once completed, it will improve water flow, enhance safety, and reduce maintenance issues in the area.

The second project is at Jalan di Lorong Semaba 8 costing RM30,000
for road upgrading project aims to improve road surface condition, accessibility and safety.

Yap added that today’s handover marks another step forward in ensuring that development reaches the people at the ground level. These may not be mega projects, but they bring real improvements to the daily lives of residents in Kota Sentosa.

He added that the GPS-led government will continue prioritising infrastructure, drainage, and road upgrades in areas where the needs are clear and urgent. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring efficient delivery, transparent implementation, and continuous engagement with the community in identifying future needs in his constituency of Kota Sentosa.

The appointed contractors are expected to commence work immediately, with completion timelines to follow standard RTP implementation schedules.
