SMK St Columba Bus Stop Extension Completed
The extension of the student bus stop at SMK St Columba Miri has been completed a month ahead of schedule, providing better facilities for students and parents.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting said the RM100,000 project, funded under the 2023 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), involved two shelters with a total length of 52 metres. Initially planned for 2024, the project began in March and was completed in July, earlier than the original August deadline.
Ting said the upgraded shelter will offer greater comfort, particularly during rainy weather, and thanked the school, contractor, and Public Works Department for their cooperation.
Principal expressed gratitude to Ting, noting the project’s benefit to both teachers and students.
Ting also inspected the school’s basketball court and revealed that an application for RM200,000 under the 2025 RTP has been submitted to refurbish the facility.
