SUPP Youth Central Affirms GPS Neutrality in Sabah Election
SUPP Youth Central today clarified that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) remains completely neutral in the ongoing Sabah State Election, following the circulation of photos and comments involving Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.
In a statement, SUPP Youth Central said GPS had never issued any directive for its leaders, members, or delegates to participate in the Sabah polls. It stressed that Dato Sri Tiong’s presence in Sabah was solely in his capacity as a Federal Minister and was not connected to any GPS role or mandate.
The statement further emphasised that any remarks or activities by Dato Sri Tiong during the election period should not be interpreted as GPS’s position. According to SUPP Youth Central, GPS continues to respect Sabah’s autonomy and does not interfere in its electoral process.
SUPP Youth Central reiterated that the coalition prioritises maintaining strong inter state relations and firmly refrains from involvement in Sabah’s internal political affairs.
The statement was issued to prevent misinterpretation and to reaffirm that GPS has no involvement in the 2025 Sabah State Election.
