Datuk Sebastian Ting Cup Canada Hill Cross Country Challenge 2025 Open for Registration
The 11th Datuk Sebastian Ting Cup Canada Hill Cross Country Challenge will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 2.30 pm at Canada Hill, Miri. Registration is open until Tuesday, November 11, and all interested participants are invited to sign up.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting, who is also the event’s patron and sponsor, will officiate at the flag-off ceremony that afternoon.
Participants may choose from several categories based on age and fitness levels: Men’s Open (4.5 km), Women’s Open (3.8 km), Men’s Veteran (2.5 km), Women’s Veteran (2.5 km), and the Fun Run category. The registration fee is RM65 per person.
Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to top finishers. In the Men’s and Women’s Open categories, the first-place winner will receive RM500, second RM400, third RM300, fourth RM250, fifth RM200, and sixth to tenth place will each receive RM80.
For the Men’s and Women’s Veteran categories, the first-place winner will receive RM350, second RM250, third RM200, fourth RM150, fifth RM100, and sixth to tenth place will each receive RM80.
Additionally, participants in the Men’s or Women’s Open category who complete the race within the target time—30 minutes for men and 25 minutes for women will be eligible to win a special accumulated cash prize, which now stands at RM10,000. So far, no participant has managed to meet the time limit to claim this bonus.
Race kits, including an event T-shirt, can be collected on Saturday, December 6, from 10 am to 6 pm at the Miri Marathon Association office, located at Miri Artificial Lake Park.

Ting said the cross country challenge has grown into one of Miri’s signature sporting events that promotes health, community spirit, and appreciation for the city’s natural landscape. He encouraged runners of all levels to take part and enjoy the scenic yet challenging trails of Canada Hill.
