RTP 2023 Project to Upgrade Masjid As-Syuhada, Kem Semenggo

State Assemblyman for Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap visited the project site at Masjid As-Syuhada, Kem Semenggo, together with officers from the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), to hand over the Letter of Award to the appointed contractor (Ixrie Enterprise) selected through the “Cabut Undi” process for the RTP 2023 project to upgrade the mosque, valued at RM100,000.

The upgrading project covers installation of new roofing , ceiling and electrical rewiring and is implemented under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to improve the facilities and infrastructure of Masjid As-Syuhada, ensuring a more comfortable and conducive environment for worshippers and the surrounding community.

During the visit, Yap stated that the RTP initiative reflects the State Government’s commitment to equitable development and continuous improvement of public facilities in both urban and rural constituencies.

This project demonstrates the Sarawak Government’s dedication under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to uplift community facilities and promote inclusivity in development.

Yap said he will continue to monitor the implementation to ensure that the project is completed within four months according to schedule, meets quality standards, and benefits the Muslim community.

He also commended the cooperation between MPP officers, community leaders, and the mosque committee in ensuring the project’s smooth coordination. He urged the contractor to carry out the works responsibly and within the stipulated timeframe.

The RTP 2023 allocation for Kota Sentosa includes several infrastructure and community enhancement projects aimed at improving the well-being of residents and supporting the constituency’s sustainable development.
