Recycling Buy-Back Campaign to Promote Green Living
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will be organising the Recycling Buy-Back Campaign for Recyclables, E-Waste Collection, Used Cooking Oil Collection, and Pre-Loved Clothing Donation in collaboration with various agencies and NGOs including the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Department of Environment (DOE), DNS Waste Management Sdn. Bhd., Kim Huang Enterprise, and Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching.
The event will be held on September 13, 2025 (Saturday) from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm at Everrise Carpark, 4 1/2 Mile, Kuching.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate by bringing in and selling recyclable items such as old newspapers, used paper, plastic bottles, tin cans, and scrap metal, as well as e-waste (electrical and electronic waste) and used cooking oil. Pre-loved clothing donations can also be contributed to Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching for charitable purposes.
Chairman of MPP, Tan Kai, said the initiative is part of the council’s continuous effort to instill environmental awareness among the community.
“This campaign is not only about recycling but also about building a culture of responsibility towards the environment. By taking part, every resident is playing an important role in reducing waste and contributing towards a greener, healthier Padawan,” he said.
A price list for recyclables, e-waste, and used cooking oil will also be provided at the campaign site.
