Four families receive new homes under BEKR project in Kampung Haji Baki

Four families who lost their homes in a fire at Kampung Haji Baki have received new houses under the Fire Disaster Relief Housing Assistance (BEKR) project, implemented by the Sarawak government.

Batu Kitang State Assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang expressed his appreciation to the Kuching District Office and all parties involved in making the project a success.

“The handing over of these homes demonstrates that the Sarawak government, under the leadership of the Premier, continues to prioritise the welfare of the people, especially those affected by misfortune,” he said.

He said each house was built with complete basic features to ensure the families involved can return to a more comfortable and safer life.

“We understand that losing a home in a fire is a very painful experience. Therefore, I hope these new homes will become a new beginning filled with hope and peace for each family,” he added.

Dato Ir Lo assured that the Sarawak government remains committed to ensuring that no one is left behind, especially in times of need.

“This form of assistance is not only a physical contribution but also a symbol of our concern and solidarity as a caring society,” he said.
