Registration opens for Padawan Raft Safari 2025
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has officially opened registration for the much-anticipated Padawan Raft Safari 2025, which is scheduled to take place on 5 October 2025. This annual eco-adventure promises an exhilarating rafting and kayaking journey along the picturesque Sungai Sarawak Kiri, winding through some of Padawan’s most scenic villages.
This year’s event includes several race categories starting from Kampung Annah Rais, Kampung Timurang, Kampung Danu, and Kampung Semadang, with all races ending at Kampung Git. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Sarawak’s countryside and immerse themselves in its unique cultural landscape.
The event is now officially part of the Borneo Raft Safari series, a new regional effort to promote rafting culture and eco-tourism across Borneo. Beyond the thrill of the race, the safari supports community tourism, offering participants the chance to stay at local homestays or enjoy relaxing picnics by natural waterfalls.
To ensure a smooth and safe event, MPP is working in close collaboration with the Sarawak Rivers Board and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation. The Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia Negeri Sarawak, specifically Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Siburan, has been appointed as the official water safety marshal. Traffic management will be overseen by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), supported by RELA and MPP’s enforcement unit, while the Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Sarawak branch will assist as the designated Emergency Response Team.
