Drain Reconstruction At Lorong Arang 13D, 13E and 13F
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will soon carry out reconstruction works on deteriorating drains at Lorong Arang 13D, 13E and 13F, which have long been a concern for residents.
MPP chairman Cr. Tan Kai said the project, aimed at improving basic infrastructure in older residential areas, will proceed after the tender process is completed. The initiative is funded by the Sarawak government under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).
He was invited to inspect the site by Zone 12 councillor Cr. Alvin Chong, who also serves as a resident in the area. Chong highlighted that many backlane drains in Arang have aged and are no longer functioning properly, causing inconvenience and safety concerns for the community.
Tan said the council will continue to prioritise drainage and road upgrades in older neighbourhoods, depending on available funding.
