MPP Chairman, Tan Kai helps trace stone throwing suspect
A stone throwing suspect has been arrested by police on Monday night.
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Tan Kai said efforts have been actively underway over the past two days to assist the police in investigating the recent stone-throwing incidents along Jalan Batu Kawa.
“We have been working closely with the police to gather relevant crime-related information and explore all possible angles, including the time, motive, and identity of the suspect, to prevent such incidents from recurring,” said Tan Kia.
He revealed that the police had also reached out to MPP to discuss the possibility of installing CCTV cameras along the stretch of road to enhance surveillance and public safety.
“On Sunday afternoon, I, along with Councillor Aaron Tay and several others, visited the site and met with two nearby families to gather additional information. What they shared matched the timeline of the crime as established by the police,” he added.
Tan said he was later briefed by Padawan Police Chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi during a courtesy visit to his office.
“The police informed me that they successfully apprehended the suspect last night. I am pleased to hear this, as road users can now feel more at ease,” he said.
