SUPP Kuching Branch Successfully Hosts Night Counter Service Again
The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch held another “Night Counter Service” event on Thursday evening at Life Café Padungan, continuing to provide assistance to tertiary students and residents. This service followed the enthusiastic response from the previous week, with many people coming to seek help.
During the event, Miri Mayor Adam Yii happened to pass by the site. Upon learning that the Kuching Branch was hosting the night counter service, he stopped to understand the service content and said words of encouragement the Kuching Branch Service Team.
Yii also expressed that the Kuching Branch’s grassroots work is solid and down-to-earth, deserving recognition. This simple and sincere support greatly inspired the team on-site. The interaction and exchange between different branches are no longer just formalities but are implemented in practical actions.
The Kuching Branch has hosted night counter services for two consecutive weeks, assisting over 300 tertiary students in successfully applying for the RM1,200 special living aid. In addition to on-site processing, they received numerous online inquiries and assistance requests.
Many students contacted the branch team through social media, receiving remote application guidance and technical support. Besides the RM1,200 aid application, the counter also continued to offer various convenient services, including Kenyalang Gold Card applications, social welfare subsidies, OKU registration, legal consultations, and document certification.
The Branch Committee, Youth Wing, Women Wing, and community leaders of the Kuching Branch actively assisted the public at the event site, ensuring smooth and orderly service processes. The team’s assistance went beyond form filling, including guidance on preparing parental income information, Sarawak ID registration, income proof processing, and even preparing Kapitan-signed letters for families without income proof, completing the process in one step.
I urge all eligible tertiary students and residents to seize this opportunity to apply for the aid. The SUPP Kuching Branch will continue to open services as needed in the future, reaffirming its priority and principle of “serving the people”. If the public has any questions about applying for this special aid, please contact the Kuching Branch Youth at 010-966 9909 or through our Facebook Page “SUPP Kuching Branch Youth Section”.
