Lutong Beach rock protection holding up well, says Sebastian Ting
The temporary rock protection installed along Lutong Beach is proving effective in withstanding strong waves, said Piasau State Assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting.
Ting, who visited the site, noted that despite aggressive wave activity, the rocks had successfully prevented seawater from reaching the road, a situation that has occurred in the past.
“We were at Lutong Beach and are happy to report that the temporary rock protection along the beach here is holding good and effective,” he said.
He also pointed out that today marks the 7th day of the lunar calendar, with high tide recorded at 1.9 meters around 1.46pm.
“Without these rocks, it is likely that the sea water might have reached our road again,” Ting added.
He assured the public that monitoring efforts will continue until a permanent coastal protection solution is implemented.
