MPP Chairman, Tan Kai says new access road to be equipped with LED street lights
The new access road connecting Jalan Ensing Timur to the traffic junction of Jalan Datuk Tan Meng Chong will soon have better lighting, as eleven (11) LED streetlights are set to be installed.
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman, Cr. Tan Kai, announced this in a press statement today after inspecting the road conditions. He noted that the access road had been completed and opened to the public four months ago.
“Some residents have shared their feedback with me, saying that this new road is a timely addition to ease traffic congestion in the area. However, they also mentioned that it is quite dark at night,” said Cr. Tan Kai.
He said MPP has successfully secured additional funding and obtained approval from SESCO to install the LED streetlights. This initiative underscores the Council’s commitment to enhancing local infrastructure for the safety and convenience of residents.
The installation aligns with MPP’s Green City Action Plan (GCAP), which promotes energy efficiency through sustainable technology, such as LED lighting. By adopting modern LED solutions, MPP aims to provide better illumination while reducing energy consumption, contributing to its broader goal of lowering the municipality’s carbon footprint and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Installation work will begin soon and will be carried out by SESCO’s contractor. MPP will closely monitor the progress to ensure timely completion.
