SUPP Miri Piasau Branch Continues to Assist Senior Citizens with Welfare Registration
The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Miri Piasau Branch has been actively helping senior citizens register and activate their Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) since 1st January 2025.
According to office records, between the first week of January and today, a total of 1,486 senior citizens have sought assistance at the branch to register and resolve issues related to SKAS, the Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), and the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC).
Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting said the branch has extended its outreach through a Weekly Mobile Service.
He said by setting up booths at various locations, volunteers assist senior citizens with applications for SKAS, SCHB, and KGC, as well as handle appeal submissions when necessary. This initiative aims to reach those who may face mobility challenges, ensuring they receive the benefits they are entitled to.
Ting added that SUPP Miri Piasau Branch remains committed to supporting senior citizens in Miri by guiding them through the application process for government welfare programs. Those who have yet to apply for SKAS, SCHB, or KGC are encouraged to visit the office or mobile service booths for assistance.
