Dato IR Lo Khere Chiang witnesses the handover of funding from UNIFOR

A total of Rm102k UniFor grant was presented to SK Sacred Heart, Kpg Semeba today.

Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Dato Lo Khere Chiang pointed out that the task of other religious affairs units in Sarawak is not only to provide assistance for the construction or repair of houses of worship, but also to provide help to schools operated by churches.

He said the GPS government provided funding to other religious affairs units in Sarawak for this purpose and ensured that Sarawak religious schools are in good condition.

“This is something very special, and it only happens in Sarawak. Other religious affairs units in Sarawak not only help build monasteries, temples and churches but even missionary schools,” he said.

Lo said that was because private schools do not receive Federal support like government schools.

He later witnessed the handover of RM102,000 from UniFor to Sacred Heart church in Semaba today.

He commended the Federal Education Minister for allowing Sarawak leaders to participate in efforts to help schools in Sarawak to ensure that all schools are in good and safe condition.
