Upgrading drainage system in Lorong Stapok
Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian with MPP Chairman, Tan Kai went to the site at Lorong Stapok to see the progress of drainage upgrading from earth drain to concrete recently.
Dr Sim said the varying drain sizes ranged from 900 mm to 2,000 mm was open tendered at RM 884,469.
He added that since 2016, RM 84.7 million has been spent on130 projects excluding RM 140 million flood mitigation projects for Batu Kawa.
Some projects, he added were to be tendered after the consultants had completed their designs and an additional RM 160 million allocation is under Sarawak government 12th Malaysia plan mid term review.
He believed that with additional funding, the whole project can be done fast.
