Chinese education in Sarawak for all races
There are 60,000 students in the 222 Chinese Primary Schools in Sarawak of which 38% of the students in Chinese Schools are Bumiputras, said Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said in Sarawak, Chinese schools cater to all races.
As it is SJKC, he said Federal Ministry of Education only responsible for teachers salary and operational cost but not fund construction of new school blocks, relocation of schools.
He disclosed that since 2020, Premier Abg Jo had allocated annual funding for these purposes. It started with RM 8 million in 2020, to RM10 million in 2021 and RM12 million in 2022. This year, there was another RM 12 million where at least 20 schools had been benefitted from this program.
