A man of good character
Deputy Premier, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian praised a farmer for his civic consciousness by setting a good example of doing his bit for his community unlike some who plastered their social media with complaints to gain some publicity.
Going to his constituency yesterday in Rantau Panjang, Dr Sim met a senior citizen on his motorcycle with a sickle.
The farmer told him that he was on his way to trim the overgrown bushes and bamboo over the roads at the local community school as he was free and the rain has stopped thus he feels the need to do something useful.
Praising him for setting such a good example, Dr Sim said many people complain non stop in FB or social media while some will complain to relevant authorities but this elderly gentleman carried on his volunteer work without making any noise.
