Meetings with school board of management
A face to face meeting of the School Board of Management members for SJKC and independence school from Kuching, Bintulu and Sibu was held at Deputy Chief minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian office on Thursday.
Dr. Sim said although SJKC operational cost which included salary and utilities is funded by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the costing of new classrooms or relocation of schools are fully through private initiatives by the school board.
He said Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari started giving assistance for the infrastructure of SJKC with RM 8 million in 2020 and RM 10 million in 2021.
He thanked the late chief minister, Tan Sri Pehin asri Adenan Satem for initiating the funding of Sarawak Independent Private Chinese Schools starting RM3 million in 2014.
