Development project for Ang Cheng Ho quarry
Deputy Chief Minister, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui is delighted with the development going on at Ang Cheng Ho quarry which is in its Phase 1 where a multi purpose hall and youth innovation hub will be constructed.
He said it is exciting to have this unique iconic project (first of it’s kind in Sarawak) on the 20 acres of water surface of the old abandoned quarry despite getting negative feedback from consultants to contractors who severely underestimate the severe challenges of the project.
Dr. Sim who visited the site recently said he was glad that works on the basement building of the foundation (6 story below water level which takes 6 months of 24 hours draining in order for the construction to start) and first opportunity to see the fishes in the lake.
While phase 1 is being constructed, we are going to initial discussions with potential private investors and stakeholders on water theme park, extreme sports, hotel in water, he added.
