Milton Foo hits out at DAP
SUPP Central Youth secretary, Milton Foo said DAP should explain frankly on their stand in relation to Chinese participating in the local regime. There should not be any grey area on this.
Foo commented on DAP Sarawak’s spokesman who said that the statement on ” Chinese political participation” is a joke and just an empty talk, then they should perhaps tell us that DAP does not agree to Chinese’s involvement in politics and should be sidelined? Does it mean Chinese can only be a taxpayer? Does it mean Chinese have no right to enjoy rights such as obtaining allocation of local resources?
“This is a far-reaching issue, especially during this economic rebuilding process post-covid. Such time requires all parties’ involvement and unity, including Chinese, in planning and implementation. How could Chinese be excluded from this? Are Chinese not part of the nation?” Foo asked.
Recently, Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari urged Batu Kawah voters to choose wisely and ensure that SUPP will be in the new Sarawak government regime, because it will not be complete without the Chinese involvement through SUPP. DAP Sarawak immediately smeared such ‘Chinese participation in regime’ statement as an ‘old political trick’ to gain Chinese support during the election period.
DAP Pending assembly woman Violet Yong had said Sarawak CM’s ‘Chinese political participation’ statement as merely a ‘political joke and empty talk’ and is actually a political trick to sideline Chinese from politics, bringing up the old issue to gain Chinese support but at the same time to deceive the Chinese community.
In contrast, Foo added that DAP has since tried very hard to fight and to reorganize the PH regime through political coups in the Federal, Sabah, Perak and Melaka. During the recent Melaka state election, DAP publicised their PH election manifesto consisting of 3 main cores and 32 measures. And they only had one motive – to gain the Melaka regime!
For the past 50 years, he said DAP never gave up their hope to be able to participate in the regime, in every election they had been involved in, because the election manifesto can’t be fulfilled by just shouting or laughing at their election slogan or signing MOU.
Thus, he urged DAP to be frank and transparent to Sarawakians on what is their underlying motive in the upcoming Sarawak election rather than just giving empty talks, promises and finding fault in the other parties.and until now, DAP never gave up any opportunity to gain regime, yet they mock Sarawak Chinese’s participation in local regime as ’empty talks and political joke’.
