Lo Khere Chiang energized the traffic light at junction of Kpg Landeh

State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who was at the junction of Jalan Landeh and Jalan Puncak Borneo to energized the signalised junction at Mile 10 said he was pleased that the people coming from Jalan Kampung Landeh can now come out of their junction without waiting for long.

Lo who is also the Chairman of Padawan Municipal council was with his councillors and community leaders said with the traffic light operating there, the communters from Kampung Landeh can move out of their junction during peak hours.

“In the past, they have to wait at the T-junction, at times for as long as 15 minutes as vehicles coming out from the other side were moving too fast and timid drivers tend to be stuck there. This has caused a lot of anguish to road users daily, numbering about 10,000 daily. The kampung folks has appealed for a traffic light to be installed and today, their request has been fulfilled,”said Lo.

He said with the traffic light installed and working, this will help ease the long traffic queue during peak hrs in the morning and evening when they return from work

He explained that due to vast development of housing, both private and government in Kampung Landeh, the population has increased tremendously thus increasing road movement.

He thanked the kampung folks for being patience despite their request for the traffic light a few years ago. “This project is under GPS costing RM1.6 million.

On the road from Mile 10, Kuching Serian, Lo pointed out that he was most unhappy with the delay in the road maintenance work. He said there were a big portion where the three lanes become two lanes and at certain area, only one lane was placed in use causing massive traffic jams.

He said despite, the traffic light at Mile 7 being energized, the traffic jam is still as bad due to the incomplete road maintainence. He said the council is working with JKR to improve the situation and they are working on traffic light timing to be lengthen for the routes where there are more vehicles on the road.

Lo assured the public that he will monitor the work progress and pressured the contractors to complete it fast. He thanked the public for their understanding and patience.
