Dr Sim suggests to wear face shield for better protection
Local government and Housing government, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian advised members of the public to use face shield with double masks so that it can provide up to 96% protection against the Delta variant.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said double masking by wearing a cloth mask on top of the medical procedure surgical mask together with a face shield could provide more protection against the Covid-19 Delta variant infection.
On another issue, Dr Sim said those who have been vaccinated at home for the first time will receive a second injection this Thursday, while the 30 who have just been vaccinated on August 24 will receive the second injection on September 14.
This community service was carried out by SUPP Batu Kawah branch in cooperation with the Sarawak government’s efforts to vaccinate the people. Most of the people who get vaccinated at home are elderly people or people with limited mobility. They all face the inconvenience of going to a vaccination center for vaccination.
Despite getting double doses of vaccine, Dr Sim urged the people to continue following the SOP required.
