New batch of PFIZER arrives at Kuching International Airport today
Even with the presence of the Delta variant which is more infectious and transmitting faster, Sarawak is still not letting its guard down despite having a big number of cases here compared to the rest of the country, said Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian. He pointed out that Delta Variant is a variant of concern (VOC) that is dominant worldwide and dangerous and among the new symptoms to watch out for are prolonged headache, runny/blocked nose, vomiting, sore throat, diarrhea, muscle, body aches and fatigue.
Dr. Sim said that is where Sarawak is still scaling up the vaccine as with the vaccine, those who contracted the virus are less ill and less likely to die of covid 19.
He said vaccines allowed us to live with the virus in safer ways and called on those who were not vaccinated to do so to protect themselves and their family members.
He said they can walk into any of the vaccine centres in Sarawak to get their jab.
This morning, the weekly schedule of Pfizer vaccines arrived from Belgium in the Kuching International Airport.
