Flood mitigation for Desa Wira area
Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian disclose that a comprehensive flood mitigation project for Desa Wira residential area in Batu Kawa will start in September residential to solve the long-standing flood problem there.
The RM120-million project was approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), would involve upgrading works on drains stretching from Desa Wira to the Sungai Maong main.
Dr. Sim said it will cost RM29 million under Phase I, which is being tendered out where all monsoon drains at the residential area will be upgraded and enlarged.
The open tender, he added, will be out this month while the remaining tender will be rolled out progressively over the next three months.
