Milton Foo distributing food to the less fortunate

With the white flag hoisting, many companies are now joining in to donate food baskets to those in need due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

A departmental store along Jalan Song is donating a total of 300 sets of food baskets consisting of rice, biscuits, instant noodles, vegetables and fruits etc in collaboration with Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Central, led by its Secretary, Milton Foo.

During the simple handover of food baskets today, Foo applauded the supermarket for its commitment in fulfilling corporate social responsibility and practicing the noble spirit of “taken from the community & giving back to the community”.

According to him, the food baskets will be distributed out by the volunteer team to the families in need, especially those who lost jobs/source of income due to the outbreak of Covid epidemic, including residents residing at dilapidated wooden houses in squatter areas of Pending constituency.

Meanwhile, Foo pointed out that since the outbreak of the epidemic, he has received appeals for food aids from time to time from the people.

“Fortunately, I have received support from a wide range of benevolent and passionate parties, including individuals and private firms, in the endeavour to share our love and care to our society,” said Foo.

Foo expressed gratitude towards Upwell Superstore for their charitable act of assisting people in need regardless of race or religion.

“In this very moment of life’s difficulties, it is good to see that people from all walks of life and various economic sectors approached me to express their willingness to lend a hand & contribute. This is what we called the “truly Sarawakians spirit” in helping one another regardless of colour, race & religious beliefs. We will win ultimately in our fight against Covid-19 as long as we all stay United & resolute.” stressed Foo.
