Daily downward trend for positive covid 19 cases a welcome news, says Datuk Sebastian Ting

Secretary-General of the Sarawak Peoples’ United Party, Datuk Sebastian Ting said he is pleased to see the daily confirmed cases in Sarawak showing a downward trend, as Sarawak will enter the country’s recovery from this Wednesday (July 14).

In the second phase of the plan, Sarawakians generally expect more industries to reopen and operate, he said.

According to the data of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee, Ting added that in the second phase of the National Recovery Plan, economic sectors such as barber, car wash shops and furniture stores are allowed to open, but they must still comply with the standard operating procedures required by the Sarawak local government and the Ministry of Housing ministry. In any case, the number of employees in the workplace, including management and operations employees, is still limited to 50%.

In the second stage, all coffee shops, restaurants and eating places are also allowed to eat in, provided that standard operating procedures are followed. He believed that the number of people allowed to eat in at the initial stage is small, but it is believed that as the number of confirmed cases continues to decline, the number of people eating in will gradually increase and standard operating procedures will be relaxed.

Ting said that the reopening of more economic sectors is essential to economic recovery and to save all walks of life from collapse. The gradual lifting of restrictions has also brought hope and encouragement to people, allowing people to see the dawn of the end of the epidemic and look forward to a carefree and normal life.

Of course, he added that the degree of reopening of the economic sector also depends on the efficiency of our vaccination program. What is gratifying is that the current whole sand vaccination plan is going smoothly. As the Director of the Sarawak Health said on July 4, Sarawak is expected to give at least 80% of the population two doses in mid-August. vaccine.

“We hope that by July 22, the proportion of Sarawak’s population receiving two doses of the vaccine will reach 50%. Compared with other states in the country, the Sarawak vaccination program is very successful. We are very grateful to the dedicated frontline staff and volunteers for their support. The people of Sarawak have devoted their time, energy, and even health to the stability of the people. In the past year and 6 months, they have been true heroes”, he added.

He thanked Sarawakians for actively responding to the vaccination plan, enthusiastically vaccinating, and assisting the Sarawak government to achieve the goal of the vaccination plan. He believes that with all Sarawakians united, we will overcome the epidemic soon. As a responsible and caring Sarawak government, we will definitely continue to implement necessary measures and plans to help all Sarawakians.

Ting also reminded Miriams who have registered for vaccination in the MySejahtera app or the provincial and county offices but have not yet received vaccination appointments to whatsapp name, ID number and home address to 011-59284348 or 011-59424290. He encouraged the people to get vaccinated.
