Sebastian Ting calls advise ignoring rumors that they have to pay for Covid-19 vaccine
Piasau state assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting who is also Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Sarawak and member of the Belsau District Council, clarified that all the coronavirus vaccines provided by the government are free of charge. He said the people are advised not to be fooled by such fake news.
Ting has recently received reports from the public that there is a widespread rumour that as long as you pay, you can be given priority to be vaccinated, emphasizing that vaccination is given under a fair and just system, and there is absolutely no priority, let alone “jumping” queue to get vaccine without paying.
He hoped that the public will understand that vaccination is absolutely free. If the public receives these information, he urged them not to believe or pay for them.
Ting said he understand due to the severity of the epidemic makes the vaccination more urgent, but he did not want to see people being deceived by such scams. He reminded the public to wait patiently as every Malaysian is eligible to have the vaccine.
“Sarawak is currently the state with the highest and fastest vaccination rate in the country. I know that some people have been waiting for a long time. After all, some people registered for vaccination in February but have not yet been notified. However, at the current rate of vaccination, I believe it will be everyone’s turn soon, ” he added.
In Miri the daily vaccine have exceeded 16,000 doses with assistance from the medical teams of major private hospitals and private clinics.
“In the initial stage of the vaccination plan, we may be faced with insufficient vaccine doses, vaccination centers and shortage of manpower, but these problems have been solved.
Ting also visited major vaccination centers in Miri in the past few days.
