CM pleased with UNIMAS vaccination centre
Local government and Housing Minister, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian who was with Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the vaccination centre at UNIMA.
He said Sarawak wanted to accelerate its vaccination porgramme by 50,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine daily.
Dr Sim said over 110,300 doses of Covid-19 vaccine would arrive Sarawak tomorrow, and another 350,000 doses this Friday.
Sarawak Government has approved a site for a RM200 million International research centre for infectious diseases to be built near the Sarawak Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan in 3 years’ time.
Dr Sim added that Sarawak had administered 43,156 shots of vaccine yesterday. Until June 15, a total of 390,281 Sarawak residents had received their first dose, and 168,471 residents had completed 2 doses. A total of 558,752 dose 1 and dose 2 vaccines were administered in Sarawak.
