More centres to be set up for vaccination
Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting said three locations have been identified as having the potential of being turned into vaccination centres (PPVs).
At the moment, PPV Eastwood Valley and PPV Dato Permaisuri each accommodate 1,000 vaccine per day with Miri Hospital able to vaccine 400 people, Borneo Medical Centre and Columbia Asia each 100.
With new centres and private clinic helping out in time, they can accommodate 2,600 per day.
He added that due to high positive cases, it is important to increase the number of PPVs as a way to expedite the vaccination programme.
The listed place included Dominic Church at Taman Tunku which can accommodate about 600, Curtin University at Senadin and SM Pei Min at Jalan Jee Foh.
