Helping the SMI business sectors
The Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Sarawak Chinese Federation had collected opinions and feedback from all parties , and handed over the proposal of business, economic, social and people’s livelihood issues to the Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Sim to be submitted to the Chief Sarawak Minister and Cabinet .
Dato Tan Jit Kee and Dato Richard Wee symbolically handed over their respective proposals to Dr Sim through zoom online meeting.
Dr Sim said this was necessary as due to the pandemic, a lot of people are suffering from loss of jobs, pay cut while employers are struggling to stay afloat.
He added that since last year, the Sarawak government has successively launched several BKSS packages , actively take care the people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sarawak government has also established the Sarawak Economic Action Council, plans for economic development in the post-covid era.
He pointed out that Abang Johari originally called on representatives of all economic and social organizations yesterday to discuss economic development issues in Sarawak, but was forced to postpone it due to the epidemic.
Thanking the Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Sarawak Chinese Federation for actively collecting information and bringing forward Chinese society and economy and other related issues, Dr. Sim said they had suggestion and options to assist these people and all these will be passed to Sarawak government to take proper remedy to assist.
