Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian visits Batu Kawah old town
Local Government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr. Sim Kui Hian paid a visit on Sunday afternoon to disperse the news of a serious covid Cluster in Old Batu Kawah township.
Dr. Sim who is also the State Assemblyman for Batu Kawah said there has been a lot of fake news surrounding the Old Batu Kawah township causing a lot of anxiety to the shopkeepers and residents there.
He said from what was gathered by the Ministry of Health Sarawak, there were eight cases involving two families. These two family members who were tested positive were already quarantined and seeking medical attention.
He urged the public not to put out fearful untrue news about the situation if they were not clear about it.
While walking around, Dr. Sim who was with the community leaders there said all the shops displayed the correct SOP and the people there were wearing masks and keeping a distance from one another.
He also urged those who have symptoms of covid 19 to seek medical health immediately. By following the SOP and not going out unnecessarily, Dr. Sim said this would help bring down the curve of the covid cases in Sarawak. As of Sunday, there were a total of 454 cases. There were a total of 207 deaths so far.
